Visits to China
Roadshow in China
Dr Adrean Bell will be visiting China in March on 9th - 18th March 2008 starting in Shanghai and finishing up in Beijing. The programme of the visit will be available shortly.
Science Alive in Hong Kong
Dr Tianjian Ji gave a talk 'What Makes Buildings Stand Up?' to over 250 school pupils at Science Alive in the Hong Kong Science Museum on 23 November 2007.
Science Alive is jointly organised by the British Council, the Education Bureau and the Hong Kong Science Museum, and sponsored by The Croucher Foundation. Every year Science Alive invites leading UK academics and communicators in the field of science to present lectures and workshops to both students and teachers in Hong Kong. |

Dr Bell visited five cities in China in November 2007 to attend Higher Education Exhibitions. Both Dr Bell and Dr Young will visit China again in March 2008. |

Visit to India
Dr
Rob Young will be visiting India form the 10th to 19th
of February 2008. He will be attending the British Council
Exhibition in Chennai on 12th and 13th Feb, visiting the Vellore
Institute of Technology on the 14th then travelling via Hyderabad
to Bangaolore. He will also attend the British Council Exhibition
in Bangalore on the 16th or 17th.

Dr A Bell visited Kenya in September 2007 to give a Pre-Departure Briefing to students (and their parents) who would be coming to the University of Manchester for the first time later in the month. He also visited schools and attended Higher Education events in Nairobi and Mombassa.

Visit to Pakistan
Head of the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering visited Pakistan in March 2007. During his visit he met with senior contacts in universities, industry and government to discuss collaborative partnerships between Pakistan and the University of Manchester. He also met School offer holders and potential new applicants in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore.
University of Manchester planned overseas exhibitions and visits to various countries.
