Entry Requirements
Taught Degrees
For 2011/12, the standard academic entry requirement for a taught MSc programme will be a good Second Class Honours Degree or international equivalent, in a related science or engineering discipline. Please note that for some of our programmes we require an Upper Second Class Honours Degree or equivalent. Please click the individual programme links for further information.
Research Degrees

In addition, all applicants will need to demonstrate competency in the English language. Applicants who do not already posses a recognised English Language qualification will need to take a recognised test such as IELTS or TOEFL and attain a minimum of IELTS 6.5 ( with the writing component no less than 6), TOEFL 570 usually with 5.0 in the TWE (Computer-based 230 or above or Internet-based 90 or above). Other English Language qualifications / tests can be considered including those offered by the University's English Language Teaching Centre.
