Research degrees funding

There are a number of funding opportunities available to applicants planning to start a research degree course at the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering.

 

The level of competition for the funding is often extremely high. Successful applicant will normally hold or be expected to achieve the equivalent of a First Class honours degree in an Engineering discipline, Mathematics or a closely related technical subject.

  • Faculty PhD Studentships 2012
    The Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences has launched a further 10 PhD studentships (also known as Dean's Awards) for 2012. These awards are open to all nationalities and research areas within the Faculty.

Scholarships

 

Scholarships are funded by various funding initiatives and organisations and awarded to applicants who satisfy entry requirement criteria. Scholarship normally covers payment of either tuition fees or a stipend for living expenses.

 

Nationwide and Worldwide funding schemes


There are a number of other scholarships and bursaries available to support you throughout your studies. They are available to applicants from a number of external funding schemes.
