Postgraduate studies

Research Degrees
The School offers an excellent range of postgraduate research programmes, covering the major areas of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering. A range of different types of research degrees are available including PhD and MPhil which have start dates in January, April, July and September and the MSc by Research and EngD Programmes which have one start date in September.

Taught MSc Degrees
The School offers a wide-ranging variety of taught MSc courses, which have been developed within its historically strong areas of academic interest. For the anticipated portfolio of full-time one year taught courses, part-time and distance-learning courses please visit our Taught Degrees page.

Distance Learning
The School recognises that many professional engineers wish to update their knowledge and skills base whilst continuing to pursue their careers. Accordingly several of our PG programmes are available for study in a MSc by Distance Learning.

Such programmes offer several qualification options ranging from Single advanced modules to a full MSc. Study material is provided in a range of media formats, and there is a robust study support system, which is reinforced during the residential sessions. The study structures and timetables are adjusted to the specific programme requirements.

If you have any questions please contact a member of the PG Admissions team.
