Performance Based Approach: Use of Finite Element Models: Conceptual model

Based on the general principles of finite element modelling, described in previous section, a conceptual model is defined taking into account the choice of element types, mesh refinement, material constitutive models, boundary conditions, connectivity, and localised behaviour. Before the model is analysed it would be prudent to discuss and agree the conceptual model with the checking authority.
