Introduction
EN 1991-1-2 describes the thermal and mechanical
actions for the structural design of buildings exposed to fire. It
is intended to be used in conjunction with the fire design Parts
of prEN 1992 to prEN 1996 and prEN 1999 which give rules for designing
structures for fire resistance.
The main content of the code includes:
Section 1: General
Section 2: Structural fire design procedure
Section 3: Thermal actions for temperature analysis
Section 4: Mechanical actions for structural analysis
More data and models for physically based thermal actions are given
in the informative annexes as follows:
Annex A: Parametric temperature-time curves
Annex B: Thermal actions for external members - Simplified calculation
method
Annex C: Localised fires
Annex D: Advanced fire models
Annex E: Fire load densities
Annex F: Equivalent time of fire exposure
Annex G: Configuration factor
Powerpoint Presentation
The PowerPoint presentations are separately prepared for the main code
and the individual annex. Basically, the main presentation provides the
step-by-step design procedure in accordance with the main code, and where
necessary explains where the Annexes link in, and any additional information
needed. |
