Facilities
The group has exceptional facilities for vibration testing include 5 HP systems with LMS test/analysis software and DIFA SCADAS front ends for simultaneous excitation and measurement (max 48 channels). There are also a wide variety of PC based data acquisition systems, FRF and spectrum analysers and associated vibration test hardware. The group is grateful for the support of LMS International and LMS-DIFA.
There is access to a range of wind tunnels, including a 2.7m x 2.2m working section tunnel and an environmental tunnel (working section 1.5m x 4.6m) that can be used for aeroelastic testing. A rig for studies of human-structure interaction under jumping and swaying loading is also available.
