Facilities
- 20m x 5m tilting flume for basic shallow and atmospheric flow studies (the biggest of its kind in the world)
- general-purpose wave flumes
- environmental test chambers for ventilation studies
- rotating table for geophysical flows
- differential turbulence column to study turbulent/sediment/chemical interaction
- oscillating rig
The rigs, other than the flumes, are in small enclosed areas well suited for safety requirements, particularly laser use.
Computing is largely done through individual PCs with parallel processing to be available through the Mason Centre. The CFD software STAR-CD is available for academic use.
