Strategy
The aim of the group is to maintain an internationally leading research position in the field of Through Life Support through a programme of fundamental and applied research.
The group holds a portfolio of research projects that are undertaken in collaboration with a variety of organisations and companies both in the UK and overseas. Research grants are held with UK and European funding bodies. Also, research contracts are received directly from companies. Research results are disseminated via publications in international journals and conferences, seminars and taught postgraduate programmes.
Strong links are established with overseas academic institutions and the group has a strong international presence. Members hold visiting appointments at other universities and are invited to present at international conferences and symposia. Strategic alliances with international universities are a key part of our research strategy.
