The Tutorial System

All enrolled students at The University of Manchester are assigned a personal tutor from amongst the academic staff. The tutor is able to advise the students on range of topics including academic related topics (such as course requirements, progress, progression, changes of course, etc.) and non-academic topics (such as accommodation, finance, etc.) All students at the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering see their tutor at least once per week during their first and second year, and when required in subsequent years.

Peer Support and Peer Assisted Study Support (PASS)

In addition to the tutorial system, students at the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering have support from more experienced students through a student-run, volunteer organisation. Further details...

Welfare and Disability

We recognise that disability is not necessarily a health issue, but if you require any special medical treatment you should contact the University's Heath and Safety Services before you apply to find out about the local availability of treatment. Occupational Health Services Available for Students

Occupational health is a specialised area of medicine concerned with the way in which an individual’s health can affect his or her ability to do a job and conversely how the work environment can affect an individual’s health.

We aim to promote the physical, mental and social well-being of students and to reduce the incidence of ill-health arising from exposure to work place hazards. Further details...
