In response to our partners in industry, The School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering offers a range of courses for professional updating and training in a range of subjects.

Our Continuing Professional Development website has details of all our short courses, some of which will lead toward a professional qualification. Our courses vary from a day upwards and these will run regularly throughout the year should the dates given be inappropriate.

Maintenance Engineering & Asset Management (Module-by-Module)

Maintenance Engineering and Asset Management is a key element in increasing the competitiveness of industry. It is a sophisticated discipline, which embraces management techniques, organisation, planning and the application of substantial electronic, engineering and analytical know-how to manufacturing processes, transport, power generation and the efficient operation of industrial, commercial and civic buildings. We currently offer 9 modules of the MSc programme as a CPD short course.

An Introduction to Maintenance Engineering and Asset Management

Intro to MEAM

This three-day course will run from 1 - 3 May 2012. This course will be of relevance to staff working in many different industries, with common responsibilities, particularly engineering personnel, plant managers, and directors with a remit for the maintenance of plant. The course is presented by speakers who are consultants in this important field with the course content delivered through case studies.

Environmental Performance of Aircraft

This new two-day course will run from 9-10 May 2012 and will appeal to a broad cross-section of staff working in the airline industry.
