Programme Director: Dr S Utyuzhnikov
Teaching staff: Mr Dennis Cooper, Dr Tim Craft, Dr William Crowther, Dr Iain Dupere, Dr Peter Hollingsworth, Prof Dominique Laurence, Dr Olutunde Oyadiji, Dr Alistair Revell, Dr Katharine Smith, Prof Ali Turan, Dr S Utyuzhnikov, Dr Shan Zhong, Dr Zhenmin Zou.
Dr Sergey Utyuzhnikov is a Senior Research Fellow and Course Director of the Aerospace Engineering Msc. He leads on units such as Advanced Aerodynamics and Engineering Optimisation.
"We have strong links with all the major aerospace players; including Airbus, Rolls-Royce, BAE, MBDA, as well as several SMEs."
Dr William Crowther is a Reader in Engineering and leads the Advanced Aerospace Design unit.
“The Advanced Aerospace Design unit provides an opportunity for Aerospace MSc students to undertake a two semester design, build and test group activity based around an autonomous unmanned air vehicle application. Groups of around 8 students take on a variety of roles depending on their area of interest including for example structures, avionics, aerodynamics, project manager, and manufacturing. Students learn to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical engineering context culminating in demonstration of fully autonomous flight at the end of the unit.
Dr Shan Zhong is course leader on units such as Fluid Mechanics for Aerospace and Mechanical Engineers, Flight Dynamics and Aircraft Aerodynamics.
“We do cutting edge research of relevance to the aerospace industry. This course will offer you the opportunities to get involved with such activities through your MSc research projects.”
