Social responsibility
MACE aims to tackle some of society's greatest challenges, with engineering applied to many important humanitarian and environmental concerns - including climate change.
We place great importance on making a difference to the social and economic wellbeing of our communities - as shown by our Athena SWAN Bronze Award and the impact of our research.

From influencing government policy on airline emissions to carrying out research to stave off the detrimental effects of climate change, our research is having a real-world impact.

Our Department aligns with the University's Ethical Grand Challenges and Stellify initiatives, aimed at encouraging students to participate in equality, sustainability and ethics-focused activities.
Responsible processes
We're proud holders of an Athena SWAN Bronze Award. This award recognises MACE's commitment to equality, diversion and inclusion, and includes all staff regardless of position or gender.
