Taught master's
As technology evolves, climate issues escalate, and the demands of the modern world diversify, our pioneering master’s courses empower you to make a difference.
For 200 years, The University of Manchester has continually solved big problems through innovative Engineering – making us the ideal place to truly deepen your knowledge. Our courses are designed alongside leaders in both international industry and research, providing you with the sought-after skills needed to fulfil growing demands in UK and beyond.
Will you master conflict resolution in MSc Management of Projects, earthquake engineering in MSc Structural Engineering, finite elements in MSc Mechanical Engineering Design, or something else entirely? The difference you make is yours to decide.
Engineering Management
Here at the place where Management of Projects education began, we continue to push boundaries as we spotlight sustainability, zero carbon, and management ethics in the project education domain.
Second for research power in the UK (latest REF, 2021), our JBM accredited courses are designed to prepare you for the future with a desirable set of skills. Beyond the substantial groundwork which our mandatory units provide, on our courses you also have the freedom to further focus in on areas of your interest – from sustainable development and risk management, to project finance and conflict resolution. How will you specialise?
Learning in our purpose-built engineering building, you have access to world-class learning facilities when you are studying, and close access to travel links all across the UK and into Europe – less than hour to the Peak District, two to London or Edinburgh, and Manchester Airport just 10 minutes from the city centre.
Every student is assigned to an academic advisor, who will be with them throughout their academic journey – someone we consider to be a ‘critical friend’. This is someone who can advise you not only on study but more well-rounded things – your career, your time in Manchester, all those questions.
We also have an excellent library service, including subscriptions to all major journals, great array of books, and other academic services – for example, students will utilise our career service as they reach the end of their studies, and a wellbeing programme.
